Rocky Point Day
On Saturday, May 16th, the Rocky Point High School track was filled with community members as families gathered for our 3rd Annual Rocky Point Day. With more than 150 vendors, games, musical performances, activities for children, and so much more, it was truly a day filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit under the sunshine.

The event once again showcased the incredible pride and connection that make Rocky Point such a special place to live and learn. Families enjoyed spending time together while supporting local organizations, businesses, student groups, and community partners throughout the day.

One of the highlights of Rocky Point Day was the presentation of the 3rd Annual RPUFSD IMP(P)ACT Awards. These awards recognize individuals within the Rocky Point community who exemplify the district’s six core values: Integrity, Making a Difference, Positive Attitude, Perseverance, Acceptance, and Collaboration + Teamwork. Together, these values form the acronym IMP(P)ACT and reflect the character and spirit of our school community.

We are proud to congratulate the 2026 RPUFSD IMP(P)ACT Award recipients:
  • Dennis Carey
  • Michael Conlon
  • Lisa Gasparro
  • Gregory Hepp
  • Mara Lopez
  • James Moeller
  • Rebecca Pagnotta
  • Melissa Rhodes
  • Samuel Valentin

We would also like to extend a very special congratulations to several members of the FJC family who were recognized this year, including FJC security guard Mr. Gregory Hepp, Kindergarten teacher Ms. Lisa Gasparro, and our beloved bus driver Mr. Sam Valentin. We are incredibly proud of the positive impact each of them has on our students, families, and school community every single day.

Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees, and thank you to everyone who helped make Rocky Point Day such a memorable celebration of our community.

Field Day Fun Ahead at FJC!

As we head into June, we are excited to celebrate one of our favorite FJC traditions — Field Day! These special days are always filled with smiles, laughter, teamwork, and plenty of fun in the sun. Our students look forward to this event every year, and we are grateful for the opportunity to come together as a school community to celebrate the end of another wonderful year at FJC.
Field Day dates are as follows:
  • Kindergarten — Tuesday, June 2nd
  • First Grade — Wednesday, June 3rd
  • Second Grade — Thursday, June 4th
(If needed, rain dates will be announced.)

Families are invited to attend and cheer on our students throughout the event. Field Day activities will take place on the large fields behind FJC, with students rotating through a variety of exciting stations and activities during the morning.

To help ensure a safe and smooth experience for everyone, please review the following important information:
  • The parking lot will not open until 9:25 AM, as it is used for morning bussing.
  • Guests should enter and exit only through the gates located between the High School track and the District Office. Gates will open at 9:30 AM.
  • All guests must bring a driver’s license or another form of photo identification.
  • Once on the field, families should locate their child’s class (look for their color) and remain with that class as students rotate through activities.
  • For safety reasons, we ask guests to remain behind cones and designated lines during activities.
  • Please do not bring bags, chairs, or additional equipment to the event.

If you plan to take your child home directly from Field Day, please notify your child’s classroom teacher in advance using the dismissal form that will be back-packed home next week. Students will only be released to approved adults with identification, and a dismissal ticket will be required at the gate.

We are so thankful for your partnership and support in making events like these possible. We look forward to celebrating together and creating lasting memories with our students and families.

FJC Teddy Bear Clinic Brings Smiles, Learning, and Safety Lessons to Kindergarten Studen

On Thursday, May 21st, Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School was transformed into a caring and compassionate learning environment as our Kindergarten students participated in the 2026 FJC Teddy Bear Clinic in partnership with Stony Brook Children's Hospital.

Students arrived with their favorite stuffed animals in hand and quickly stepped into the role of caring “parents” as they helped take care of their beloved stuffies while learning important health and safety lessons.
Throughout the event, students explored ways to stay safe and healthy in their everyday lives through engaging, child-friendly activities led by healthcare professionals and volunteers.

During the clinic, students learned about the importance of helmet safety and how helmets help protect our brains while riding bikes and scooters. They also learned about proper car seat and seatbelt safety and why it is important for children to always ride safely in vehicles. In addition, students helped bandage and care for their stuffed animals’ “injuries,” giving them an opportunity to practice empathy, kindness, and caregiving skills in a fun and comforting way.

The Teddy Bear Clinic was filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful learning experiences. Students were excited to participate, ask questions, and interact with the caring volunteers who helped make the day so special. The experience helped build confidence and understanding while reinforcing important safety habits in a way that was both memorable and engaging for our young learners.

We are incredibly grateful to the staff and volunteers from Stony Brook Children's Hospital for partnering with us to make this special experience possible. Their warmth, energy, and dedication created a memorable day for our students and staff alike.

A special thank you also goes out to everyone at FJC who helped organize and support the event. The Teddy Bear Clinic was truly a wonderful example of our school community coming together to create meaningful experiences for our students as they continue SOARing at FJC!
