Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School

"The Place to be is Always FJC!"

Enjoy Mid-Winter Recess
Dear FJC Families,

As we approach Mid-Winter Recess, we would like to take a moment to wish all of our Frank J. Carasiti families a warm, relaxing, and enjoyable break. Schools will be closed from February 16–20, and we hope this time provides everyone an opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend meaningful time together.

The winter months can feel long and busy, and this pause in our schedule is an important chance for students to reset before we head into the second half of the school year. Whether your plans include traveling, enjoying outdoor winter activities, reading a favorite book, or simply slowing down at home, we hope the week brings comfort, laughter, and memorable moments.

We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready to continue learning and growing together. Thank you for your continued partnership and for all you do to support our school community.

Have a safe and wonderful Mid-Winter Recess!

Gratefully yours,
Mr. Westerlund & Mr. Williams

SOUPer Bowl Challenge Update – We Did It, FJC!

Our FJC community truly showed what it means to SOAR!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our students and families, Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School collected 825 non-perishable food items during this year’s SOUPer Bowl Challenge. These donations will be shared with the Trinity Lutheran Church Food Pantry and AGAPE Meals for Kids, helping to support families in our local community.

Even more impressive—this year’s total of 825 items surpasses last year’s 750 donations! That means even more families will benefit from the kindness and generosity of our FJC Eagles.

We couldn’t be more grateful for the way our school community continues to demonstrate Safety, Ownership, Acceptance, and Respect through meaningful action. When we come together with a shared purpose, amazing things happen.

Thank you for helping our students turn compassion into impact. We are so proud of the way our Eagles continue to SOAR!

🥇 STEAM Goes for Gold! 🥇

Students in Ms. Stueber’s STEAM class recently had a hands-on opportunity to celebrate the excitement of the Olympics with a series of Olympic-themed design challenges!

Putting their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test, students designed and built their own bobsled runs using paper towel holders, paper plates, tape, and a variety of other materials. They experimented with angles, speed, and structure—making adjustments along the way as they worked to create the fastest and most successful runs.

The Olympic spirit continued as students engineered and played their own version of knock hockey, crafted from box lids and other classroom materials. This engaging activity encouraged teamwork, friendly competition, and innovative thinking.

From designing and building to testing and improving their creations, students were fully immersed in hands-on learning while having a tremendous amount of fun. It was wonderful to see them embrace the Olympic spirit through creativity, collaboration, and perseverance—truly demonstrating what it means to SOAR!

Celebrating the 100th Day at FJC!

Join us as we celebrate the 100th Day of School on February 25th at FJC! As is tradition, we invite all students and staff to dress as if they are 100 years old for a day filled with fun and creativity.

Throughout the day, students will participate in a variety of 100-themed activities, celebrating this exciting milestone in the school year while reinforcing learning in a joyful and engaging way.

We look forward to seeing our students and staff show off their “100-year-old” style and celebrate together!
