"The Place to be is Always FJC!"

Homecoming Parade 2025

Join Us for the Annual Homecoming Day Parade!

We are excited to invite all of our FJC families to take part in the annual Homecoming Day Parade! This is always a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate both our school and our Rocky Point community.

All groups marching will gather in the FJC parking lot at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Just look for the FJC cone and join our group as we march together up Rocky Point–Yaphank Road to the High School parking lot.

The more the merrier—the bigger the group, the more fun it is! Bring your school spirit, your energy, and let’s show the community how proud we are to be Eagles!

Scholastic Book Fair

PTA Sponsored Book Fair Next Week

We are excited to share that FJC will be hosting our Book Fair next week! Each class will have the opportunity to attend during their regularly scheduled library period, giving students the chance to explore and shop for new books to enjoy at home.

Families are warmly invited to join their children at the Book Fair to browse and shop together. This is always a fun way to encourage a love of reading while supporting our school community.

A special thank you goes out to our amazing PTA volunteers for helping us with this event—especially for ringing up students at checkout and keeping everything running smoothly.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher. We can’t wait to see everyone at the Book Fair!

Staff Spotlight: Ms. Ardolino (ENL Teacher)

This week, we are excited to shine our Staff Spotlight on Lindsey Ardolino, our dedicated First Grade ENL teacher here at FJC. Ms. Ardolino has been a part of the FJC family for 5 years and brings with her 8 years of experience in education.

Ms. Ardolino loves the joy of seeing her students grow each day and treasures the sense of community that makes FJC so special. Some of her favorite memories include our Christmas sing-alongs and the Harvest Day Parade, where the school truly comes together in celebration.

In her classroom, Ms. Ardolino enjoys sharing books that spark imagination and connection with her students. One of her favorites is The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson. Beyond school, she stays busy with her hobbies: reading, going on walks with her son, and shopping.

Something you might not know about Ms. Ardolino? She’s the oldest of three sisters! Her favorite quote also reflects the heart she brings to her work each day: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

We are so grateful for Ms. Ardolino’s kindness, dedication, and the positive energy she brings to FJC. Thank you, Ms. Ardolino, for all that you do for our students and school community!

Stuffy Day in First Grade

SOAR-ing in First Grade!

Congratulations to Ms. Sumwalt and Ms. Ardolino’s first grade class! Since the very first day of school, their students have been working hard to demonstrate the SOAR traits of Safety, Ownership, Acceptance, and Respect. Each time the class was recognized for living these values, they earned a check on their SOAR Board.

Last week, the class proudly completed their SOAR board—a huge milestone! To celebrate, they enjoyed a Stuffed Animal Day, where students and staff spent the day learning alongside their cuddly companions. It was a paws-atively awesome day filled with smiles, teamwork, and pride in their accomplishment.

Way to go, Ms. Sumwalt and Ms. Ardolino’s first graders—you are showing all of FJC what it means to SOAR!

SOAR Students of the Week

We are so proud of our SOAR winners this week! Students earn SOAR tickets when they are recognized for showing Safety, Ownership, Acceptance, and Respect throughout the day. All tickets are collected and entered into our weekly raffle. The lucky winners not only get recognized as SOAR stars, but also have Eddie the Eagle join their class for the week.

This weeks winners are:
  • Amelia Stiles
  • Alina Marchiselli
  • Patty Byrnes
Congratulations to this week’s winners—you are shining examples of what it means to SOAR at FJC!

Battle of the Candy Monsters

Battle of the Candy Monsters!

Get ready, FJC—it’s time for a friendly competition with our neighbors at JAE! From October 1st through October 24th, both schools will be collecting new, individually wrapped candy to “feed” our candy monster.

All candy donations will go directly toward the Trunk or Treat Event hosted by the NSYC and the Rocky Point PTA on Saturday, October 26th from 2:00–5:00 PM. Each piece of candy helps make this community event extra sweet for our students and families.

Here’s the fun twist: all candy brought in will be weighed, and the school that collects the most candy will be crowned the winner of the Battle of the Candy Monsters! The winning school will also earn a bonus pajama day—a sweet prize, indeed.

Let’s show our FJC spirit and feed our candy monster—we’re counting on you to help us bring home the win!
