Score Big for Charity: Join the Souperbowl Food Drive!
Get ready for the "Souperbowl" food drive, organized by our second grade classes! From January 27 through February 7, all students are invited to bring in non-perishable food items to help support families in need within the Rocky Point community. It's a wonderful way to give back during the cold winter season and provide a little warmth to those who need it most. Please remember to check the expiration date on any items before donating.

The second grade classes will be split into two teams, each competing to see who can bring in the most items. The team with the most donations will be crowned the "Souperbowl" champion! Let's all come together to make this event a huge success and show how much we care for our community. Whether you're in second grade or another grade level, your participation will make a big difference!

Sign Stating the Great Kindness Challenge, January 27-31, 2025; Kindness moves!
Great Kindness Challenge
The week of January 27th, FJC will be participating in The Great Kindness Challenge (GKC), a global campaign that promotes kindness, social-emotional health, and bullying prevention:

  • What it is: A week-long initiative where students and families perform as many acts of kindness as possible to create a culture of compassion, acceptance, unity, and respect
  • When it's held: The GKC takes place annually during the last week of January
  • How it works: Schools receive a checklist of kind acts to complete, which students can do independently, in small groups, or as a whole class
  • What's the theme: The theme for the 2025 GKC Week is "Kindness Moves"
  • What it can do: The GKC can improve school climate, increase student engagement, and decrease bullying
